ML40 technology structure

Krehalon’s unique ML40 technology is chlorine-free and helps to meet environmental concerns. Its innovative construction gives us the exceptional advantage of reducing material thickness without compromising material’s barrier properties and strength, allowing us to offer thinner but stronger food packaging materials that constantly challenge competitors. Our ML40 technology is based on a six layer coextruded material with an outer-to-inner layer structure as below:

  • PET (Polyester) for gloss and temperature resistance
  • Tie layer (glue for the two adjacent layers)
  • PA (Polyamide or Nylon) giving strength to the film
  • EVOH (Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol) giving a high barrier for gasses especially oxygen and carbon dioxide
  • Tie layer (glue the two adjacent layers)
  • PE (Polyethylene) sealing layer

During the past few decades, our core technology has undergone many further developments and improvements to ensure its excellent suitability for packaging automation. This has led to widespread adoption of the ML40 materials in the global food industry.
